Many web designers are still under the impression that a (Google) page rank is an important part of web design. For example: a Google Page Rank of 6 is considered a well ranking website.

Larger web development companies will charge up to $20,000.00 per month to corporate clients to accomplish this page rank, and indeed, the website has “significant” traffic.

THE REAL TRUTH:
IMAGINE YOU ARE THE OWNER OF GOOGLE
You make money when clients sign-up and pay i.e.: $0.15 OR MORE PER CLICK. The normal “unpaid” search results “supposedly” based on (what many web designers think) page rank make you $0.00 PER CLICK.

You would naturally hope that all website owners start paying you per click.

Being the owner of Google, wouldn't you be better off making sure that once people have payed you per click for a certain domain, that the normal search results of that domain go down or dissappear from the “unpaid” search results? This would force the “pay per click customer” to keep bidding higher per click to maintain the same results.
